Why don’t you rehome young kittens?
Most of the kittens we rescue are either feral, injured, sick or traumatised so it can take quite a few weeks to get them ready for adoption, we also prefer to home after they have been neutered so as to make sure this is done and not just a promise from adopter.
Why are you so strict in possible homes.?
Mainly because of the cats past and our mission to make sure their future life is long and happy. No young children because our cats previous history means they are mostly afraid of noise and sudden movements. No busy roads for obvious reasons main one being cats don’t know how to cross a road safely it’s always a game of Russian roulette and eventually they will be killed or injured.
Why do you not post all your rescues and cats on social media ?
Often because sharing their story isn’t possible due to confidentiality etc. We work with various agencies and services dealing with peoples personal situations that don’t need discussing. Everyone knows everyone in social media nowadays and people turn nasty very quickly often after only reading half the post they jump to conclusions, bombard us with their opinions and even fight among themselves none of which actually helps the cats.
We also don’t divulge areas where feral cats are for their safety.
We do share some stories just not all and hopefully our supporters understand this.
Why do you not take in and help every cat that needs rescue?
It’s not just a case of fitting one more in if we are full we are full.
It costs a lot of money every week to sustain the numbers we rescue and we constantly struggle to raise funds to cover food, litter, vet bills etc. We aren’t a cage rescue and believe the cats should have spacious living quarters and as little risk of stress induced infection as possible therefore space is limited.
Do you get paid ?
No none of our volunteers get paid or even claim expenses in fact volunteers often use their own money towards cat care.
