It’s tough
We sit here in the corner of county Durham after a tough couple of years, doing what we can,
our fundraising store is a huge miss but it was impossible to keep open due to covid
we aren't as active on social media anymore as the constant messages and pressure to do more is just to intense for volunteers struggling to do what we can.
we see people we have helped in the past just forget about us when we need support so its unsure how much longer we can continue.
of course the feral colonies we support and feed 365 days of the year care needs to continue as does care of long stay cats even if charity fiunds are zero we personally can not turn our backs.

Long stay cats deserve the best too.
We have a number of cats that for various reasons can’t be homed and need to stay with us, often for health or behaviour issues that can be costly to treat and emotionally draining to deal with . The stresses of being adopted to risky and the cost for adopters to high.
We have a strict no destroy policy and a depleting bank balance, the pandemic has had huge impact on our small charity making fundraising events impossible.
Please consider supporting us donations can be made via PayPal or direct bank transfer. https://www.paypal.me/CatsRUs

Help Cats R Us through Pandemic
Please Help Save Cats R Us click this link to go to our go fund me page.
Coronavirus has had a huge impact on small charities who unlike the large charities cant launch huge fundraising campaigns with paid advertising , don't benefit from rate relief or staff furlough because we don't have paid staff only unpaid volunteers.
No fundraising events means no funds and Cats r us has also had to close its small fundraising store as couldn't afford overheads.
Cats R Us has a strict no destroy policy and are left with a lot of very difficult to home cats either because of their health or behaviour problems and all still have to be fed and vet treated regularly, volunteers feeding them and the feral colonies we support are doing so out of their own pockets as funds are so low.
Sadly if no funds come in then Cats R Us may have to close completely which would be devastating for the local area cats.
Please consider making even a small donation to help this charity keep going.
Since 1998 Cats R us has been helping cats even fighting Toys R Us for their name https://straycatsrus.blogspot.com/p/blast-from-past-cats-r-us.html
See some of the rescue successes here https://straycatsrus.blogspot.com/p/blog-page.html there are many more too.

White cat skin cancer
27/04/2020
WARNING graphic images. Harvey the feral cat had to have his ear removed today as had cancerous tumours. Allotment feral he is now contained in a purpose built pen until fully healed. Sun damage and cancer are a big problem for white cats. Vets said we caught just in time or would have been a dead cat. Donations as always gratefully received towards his vet bill. https://www.paypal.me/CatsRUs
Donations of cat food can still be dropped off at store entrance as we will hopefully be able to check regularly. If you would like to support us at this difficult time donations can be made via PayPal https://www.paypal.me/CatsRUs or direct banking our account details

Coronavirus
Coronavirus: well we are likely going to struggle for cat food in the coming weeks. Amazon may not see cat food as delivery priority. All our trustees and some volunteers fall into the self isolation groups. Our vet bills are fully paid up to date , all fundraising events this year have been cancelled and fundraising store will likely be closed a few weeks soon. Donations of cat food can still be dropped off at store entrance as we will hopefully be able to check regularly. If you would like to support us at this difficult time donations can be made via PayPal https://www.paypal.me/CatsRUs or direct banking our account details

our feral feeders will carry on supporting the feral colonies as long as possible.
Cat litter also desperately needed.
