Coronavirus: well we are likely going to struggle for cat food in the coming weeks. Amazon may not see cat food as delivery priority.  All our trustees and some volunteers fall into the self isolation groups.  Our vet bills are fully paid up to date , all fundraising events this year have been cancelled and fundraising store will likely be closed a few weeks soon.  Donations of cat food can still be dropped off at store entrance as we will hopefully be able to check regularly.  If you would like to support us at this difficult time donations can be made via PayPal  https://www.paypal.me/CatsRUs or direct banking our account details

Thank you so much for our grant from Channel 4 Animal Rescue Live Grant Fund, administered by the Petplan Charitable Trust.
This will make a big difference to our project and we are exceptionally grateful.
We still need to raise a percentage of funds to enable us to realise our goal but are sure with support from donators we can do this.

I know it must seem like we are constantly raising funds but that’s because we are constantly running out of funds. Daily costs of food and litter plus the feral colonies we feed daily, vet bills, volunteers using their own money a lot of the time too. Currently we need to raise funds to neuter five from a feral colony in Gainford . Unlike members of the public we aren’t eligible for vouchers from other neuter campaigns and of course there is no local branch of national cat charity anymore. Every little helps.

overwhelming need

Just when we thought we might make the bills ten became fourteen kittens 😿. Four peaky blinders doing well and there mum neutered. Six from two mums underweight but all apart from one thriving he not to well 😿 then it was four tinies dehydrated cold and hungry they a lot better now hydrated and warm. Please consider even £1 to help us provide for all their needs.

That’s ten to find food and litter for, ten flea treatments, ten wormers, ten microchips, ten vet checks can’t even consider ten vaccinations when it will be ten neuters in January.
We already struggling as it is despite our fundraising efforts. #needamiracle if everyone who likes our page, pics, stories just donated one pound that would make a huge difference. Cats R Us isn't affiliated with any other organisation and receives no government funding.

We take in vulnerable, sick, injured, often distressed cats and kittens, we rehabilitate Socialise get any necessary vet treatment and prepare for new homes.

Our extensive experience means we are often able to save and nurse back to health cats/kittens where the prognosis has not been good. We work closely with other rescue charities both national and local.

We do not take in unwanted pets but on some occasions if you are looking to rehome your cat we may be able to help.

We support local feral colonies by supplying food and making sure they are fed 365 days of the year.

We run a successful Trap Neuter Return scheme which ensures feral colonies cease to breed and therefore thrive better.

Cats R Us Shildon Fundraising Store Cats R Us Fundraising Store is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday 10am till 12noon tucked away in one of the old Astraka/Calsonic offices at South West Durham Business Centre , Dabble Duck, Shildon DL4 2QN Donations for the cats can be dropped off as well as items for us to sell to raise funds. Lots of bargains to be had too so pay us a visit.
